First International Flight!

This is where it all begins. I had no idea this trip would lead me into an obsession with traveling internationally and I'm forever grateful for it! 

  

Standing in the airport with my best friend at 5am in the heart of St. Louis, ready to board our first International flight ever!!  It really had me in all my feels. This was a spontaneous trip to see our friend in BARCELONA!! This place was always on my bucket list. I had just gotten my passport 6 months before this and I was so eager to use it. I couldn't believe I was even about to go. It felt like shock the whole entire time. 

Well, we thought this would be our last selfie in the states but we also had a layover in Minnesota and New York City. 

Our first stop was Minnesota! The Twin Cities. I decided I was going to sticker my new suitcase with everywhere I've been. So, this was one of the first stickers for my luggage. 

We also had breakfast in Minnesota. This was a chorizo tostada that was actually really good. 

 

                And we are off to NYC! 

We landed and not even off the plane yet! We had to find our new gate when getting off the airplane and of course we got NYC pizza! 

I was STILL in shock this was my actual boarding pass. I've always dreamed of doing something like this and still to this day it just doesn't feel real! I still have this pass as a souvenir! I actually keep all of them and store them in this traveling shadow box I have now!

We were both really happy they had a flight tracker. You can watch your whole flight, speed, and location. It's pretty neat. You can also watch TV and play games. I watched 4 movies and played poker. They give you ear buds, a blanket, and pillow. It is not as comfortable as you would think but it's an airplane for 8 hours in an economy seat, so I wasn't expecting much more. 

 

   The entertainment on the airplane is not bad though at all! 

 

I wish I had a picture of the actual food this time. (I know I do on the way going home) but this was a brownie that came with my dinner (mushroom ravioli ) and this dessert wasn't bad! For the flight I had taken they do feed you two meals included in your airfare. All drinks included, alcohol were also free. They come around with snacks a few times too! Overall the experience of the airplane was a better experience than I thought it was going to be. 

The window seat is always a good one to have. For the view for one and you have more head space to use the wall and the window. 

We have arrived!! The first thing we did in the airport was buy a metro card and immediately got on the metro to meet our other best friend! By this time we had traveled for over 24 hours with the 7 hour time difference and it was around 10am now after we landed and made it out of the airport and customs. We met up with our friend and got breakfast. After we saw the amazing Arc de Triomf that is pictured below.
